Job Description
Full details about the role and requirements
Yukerja Summary
The Operational Field Manager — Landscape Installation role at Samara Lombok is curated from JobStreet (category Kreatif & Desain). Note the work location (Lombok) before applying. Yukerja.com is not the employer — applications are handled on the official source site.
The Project
Samara Lombok is a three-site luxury estate on the south coast of Lombok — Samara Beach, Samara Bay and Samara Hills — opening Q1 2028. The landscape package is one of the largest work packages on the entire project: full softscape and hardscape installation across all three sites, supplied in large part from our own on-site nursery and organic gardens.
The Role in One Line
We are hiring a field operator, not a designer. Someone who lives on site, moves plants and people at scale, and closes out a landscape package from nursery bed to signed handover — on programme, every time.
Reporting & Scope
Reports to: General Manager, Samara Lombok
Directly leads: 100+ field crew, supervisors and subcontracted installation teams
Based: Full-time on site, South Lombok. This is a field role, not an office role.
Contract: Full-time, pre-opening mobilisation through opening and establishment period
Key Responsibilities
1. Nursery & Plant Supply
Own the day-to-day operation of the on-site nursery: propagation, potting-on, hardening off, staging and holding areas
Sequence plant availability against the installation programme — right species, right size, right condition, right week
Control plant health, losses and shrinkage; set and enforce acceptance standards for all bought-in stock
Manage sourcing trips, off-site holding nurseries, supplier inspections and pre-purchase tagging of specimen trees
2. Deliveries & Site Logistics
Plan and control all inbound landscape deliveries: plants, specimen trees, topsoil, growing media, aggregates, hardscape materials, irrigation components
Coordinate craning, heavy transport, access routes, laydown and staging areas with construction and site logistics
Run goods-in inspection, quantity verification and rejection of substandard material — nothing enters site unchecked
Keep nurseries and material yards clean, counted and reconciled against the BOQ
3. Installation & Site Execution
Drive daily execution of softscape and hardscape installation across all three sites simultaneously
Set out works from landscape drawings; verify levels, grading, drainage and irrigation before a plant goes in the ground
Enforce planting specification: pit sizes, soil mixes, backfill, staking, mulching, initial establishment care
Solve site problems on the spot — access, weather, sequencing, clashes with other trades — without waiting to be told
4. Manpower & Crew Leadership
Lead, deploy and hold accountable 100+ field staff, supervisors and mandors across multiple work fronts
Build and issue the daily labour plan: who is where, doing what, with what tools and equipment, to what target
Recruit, train and develop supervisors; run toolbox talks, skills coaching and succession for key crew leaders
Manage subcontractors on output, quality and safety — measured on delivery, not on explanations
5. Programme, Handover & Establishment
Own the landscape installation programme and report progress against it weekly
Drive zone-by-zone completion: snagging, internal inspection, client walk-through and formal handover
Manage the defects and establishment period — replacements, watering regimes, transition to the maintenance team
Hand over complete records: as-installed plans, plant schedules, warranties, maintenance instructions
6. Safety, Cost & Reporting
Enforce safety on every crew, every day: plant and machinery, manual handling, heat exposure, and fall protection.
Track labour productivity, plant losses and material consumption against budget; flag variances early, not at month-end
Weekly written report to the General Manager: progress, manpower, blockers, two-week look-ahead, risk register
What We Are Looking For
8+ years leading large-scale landscape installation on major resort, estate, township or development projects
Proven experience directly managing 100+ field staff — personally, not through a layer of contractors
Deep practical horticulture: tropical species, specimen tree transplanting, nursery operations, soils and irrigation
Able to read and set out from landscape drawings, planting plans, grading, drainage and irrigation plans
Demonstrable track record of delivering to programme and closing out to formal handover
Fluent Bahasa Indonesia; working English sufficient to report to executive management
Valid driving licence
Attitude — Non-Negotiable
“Make it happen” mentality. Owns the outcome, never the excuse.
Calm under pressure, hard on standards, fair with people.
First on site, walks every front daily, knows every crew leader by name.
Comfortable being held to a number — and holding others to theirs.
Thrives in a remote, physically demanding, fast-moving pre-opening environment.
