Job Role
The Data Cruncher & Inventory Demand Forecaster is responsible for transforming operational data into actionable business insights that optimize inventory planning, material requirements, and supply chain performance across multiple business operations.
This role combines advanced data analytics with operational planning to forecast demand, improve warehouse efficiency, minimize stock shortages, optimize working capital, and support uninterrupted field operations.
Working closely with Operations, Procurement, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Executive Management, you will develop predictive models, analyze consumption trends, evaluate inventory performance, and provide strategic recommendations that improve business performance across multiple operational sites.
The position requires frequent travel to warehouses, industrial sites, and production facilities to validate operational data, understand field conditions, and ensure forecasting accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large operational datasets from multiple business units.
Develop dashboards and management reports to monitor inventory performance, warehouse utilization, asset consumption, and operational KPIs.
Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational improvement.
Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior management and executive leadership.
Inventory Demand Forecasting
Build and maintain forecasting models for inventory consumption, spare parts, fuel usage, feed materials, agricultural inputs, and other operational consumables.
Forecast material requirements using historical consumption patterns, operational schedules, maintenance plans, and seasonal demand.
Establish safety stock levels, reorder points, and Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) to optimize inventory performance.
Evaluate supplier lead times and logistics constraints to minimize stockout risks across geographically dispersed operations.
Inventory Optimization & Supply Chain Planning
Analyze inventory turnover, slow-moving stock, excess inventory, and warehouse cost leakage.
Recommend inventory optimization initiatives that improve working capital utilization while maintaining operational continuity.
Support procurement teams with data-driven purchasing strategies and supplier planning.
Monitor inventory variance and recommend corrective actions.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Collaborate with Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Procurement teams to align inventory forecasts with operational requirements.
Review and improve MRP parameters and inventory planning methodologies.
Ensure consistency and accuracy of inventory master data.
ERP & Data Governance
Extract, validate, and analyze operational data from ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
Audit inventory records, warehouse transactions, and planning data to improve reporting accuracy.
Support continuous improvement initiatives through automation and data standardization.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with directors, operational leaders, procurement managers, and external stakeholders.
Conduct regular site visits to warehouses and operational facilities to validate inventory data and forecasting assumptions.
Provide analytical support for strategic operational planning across multiple business units.
Candidate Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree (S1) in one of the following disciplines:
Statistics
Mathematics
Industrial Engineering
Data Science
Supply Chain Management
Operations Research
Business Analytics
Other related quantitative fields
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Inventory Planner, Demand Forecaster, Supply Chain Analyst, Material Planner, Inventory Control Specialist, or similar role.
Experience in one or more of the following industries is highly preferred:

Industrial Supply Chain
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of Inventory Management, Demand Forecasting, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Safety Stock, EOQ, Inventory Optimization, and Supply Chain Analytics.
Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, Macros).
Experience with Power BI and/or Tableau.
Knowledge of SQL and/or Python is an advantage.
Experience using ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
