Job Summary
The Senior Waiter / Senior Waitress is responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences while supporting the daily operation of the Food & Beverage team. This role serves as a senior member of the service team by leading junior waitstaff, ensuring service standards are consistently maintained, and assisting supervisors in coordinating floor operations.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong hospitality knowledge, leadership by example, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service Excellence
Deliver professional, warm, and personalized service to every guest.
Ensure guests receive a premium dining experience from arrival to departure.
Provide accurate recommendations on food, beverages, and wellness menu offerings.
Handle guest requests and complaints promptly while ensuring guest satisfaction.
Build positive relationships with members and returning guests.
Floor Operations
Assist in coordinating daily restaurant floor operations.
Ensure all service stations are fully prepared before opening.
Monitor table turnover and service efficiency.
Ensure food and beverages are served accurately and promptly.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the dining area throughout service.
Team Leadership
Lead by example in professionalism, grooming, and service standards.
Coach and mentor junior waiters and waitresses.
Support new employee onboarding and on-the-job training.
Assist supervisors in maintaining staff discipline and operational standards.
Encourage teamwork and effective communication during service.
Operational Standards
Ensure compliance with all F&B SOPs and company policies.
Monitor table setup, service sequence, and dining presentation.
Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure smooth service flow.
Report operational issues and guest feedback to management.
Cash Handling & POS
Process guest orders accurately using the POS system.
Ensure bills are prepared correctly.
Handle payments according to company procedures.
Report discrepancies immediately.
Hygiene & Food Safety
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene.
Follow food safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and hazard-free.
Support compliance with health and safety regulations.
Inventory Support
Monitor restaurant supplies and operating equipment.
Report shortages or damaged items promptly.
Assist with stock counting when required.
Requirements
Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a waiter/waitress, with at least 1 year in a senior or leadership role.
Excellent guest service and communication skills.
Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
Familiar with POS systems and restaurant operations.
Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in luxury hospitality, wellness resorts, premium cafés, or fine dining restaurants.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Wine, coffee, or beverage knowledge is an advantage.
Experience handling VIP guests and members.
First Aid certification is an advantage.
