Job Summary
The Sea Cucumber Project Manager leads remote, sea-based grow-out operations from pilot validation to commercial scale-up. Key KPIs include maximizing sea cucumber survival and growth rates. This role requires a hands-on, scientific problem-solver who can manage infrastructure, oversee teams, and collaborate with NGO partner BLUE ALLIANCE on community engagement and farm security.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Infrastructure: Plan grow-out workflows, source materials within budget, and oversee the installation/maintenance of sustainable lagoon infrastructure.
Team & Community: Supervise and mentor aquaculture technicians and community members; ensure safety, policy compliance, and local capacity building.
Technical Monitoring: Track environmental data (pH, temperature, salinity) and zootechnical metrics to optimize growth and mitigate risks.
Data & Reporting: Analyze performance, costs, and material usage to deliver technical and financial reports to leadership.
Problem & Risk Management: Swiftly resolve operational challenges (e.g., disease outbreaks, equipment failure) and promote sustainable aquaculture practices.
Skills and Qualifications
Education: Degree in Aquaculture, Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 5+ years in aquaculture (3+ in management). Experience in sea cucumber farming, hatcheries, or community aquaculture is highly preferred.
Languages: Fluent Bahasa Indonesia (required); proficiency in English (preferred).
Core Skills: Budgeting/logistics, water quality testing, data analysis, and community engagement.
Location Awareness: Familiarity with remote coastal environments (e.g., Central Sulawesi) and local regulations.
Physical & Certifications: Fit for demanding marine/lagoon work. Valid driver’s license required; SCUBA and boat licenses are major pluses.
