Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Development
Develop technical drawings based on approved design concepts.
Prepare complete drawing packages, including:
Layout Plan
Furniture Layout Plan
Flooring Plan
Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP)
Interior Elevations
Sections
Detailed Drawings
Joinery Details
Built-in Furniture Details
Interior Construction Details
Loose Furniture Layout (if required)
etc
Translate conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings ready for construction.
2. Technical Documentation
Prepare complete Construction Drawings (IFC) and Shop Drawings (AFC) in accordance with company standards.
Ensure all drawings are technically accurate, coordinated, and ready for execution.
Produce furniture production drawings and detailing for custom furniture.
Prepare drawing revisions based on design development, client feedback, and site conditions.
Maintain proper drawing version control and documentation.
3. Coordination
Collaborate closely with Interior Designers to ensure drawings reflect the approved design intent.
Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors to support quantity take-off (QTO), BOQ preparation, and budgeting.
Coordinate with Project Heads, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Production Teams to resolve technical issues during project execution.
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and consultants when technical clarification is required.
Ensure coordination with architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to minimize clashes during construction.
4. Site Support
Conduct site surveys and measurements before drafting when required.
Verify existing site conditions and dimensions.
Support technical clarification during construction.
Update drawings according to site conditions and prepare As-Built Drawings upon project completion.
5. Quality Control
Review drawings for completeness, consistency, constructability, dimensions, annotations, and material specifications.
Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards and project requirements.
Minimize drawing discrepancies that may impact construction quality, project cost, or project schedule.
6. Documentation
Organize project files according to company standards.
Maintain revision history and drawing documentation.
Ensure all drawing files are properly archived.
7. Continuous Improvement
Continuously improve drafting quality and efficiency.
Contribute to the development of drawing standards, templates, and detail libraries.
Stay updated on interior construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Minimum Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interior Drafter, preferably in a Design & Build, Interior Fit-Out, Contractor, or Custom Furniture company.
Requirements
Proficient in AutoCAD (mandatory) and SketchUp.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and or Google Workspace.
Able to prepare complete technical drawing packages independently.
Experienced in preparing Construction Drawings (IFC), Shop Drawings (AFC), and As-Built Drawings.
Strong understanding of interior construction methods and detailing.
Familiar with custom furniture detailing and production drawings.
Understanding of materials, finishing, hardware, and joinery systems.
Able to read and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
Experienced in conducting site measurements and site verification.
Familiar with layouting, plotting, and sheet setup in AutoCAD.
Understanding of production processes and construction sequencing is an advantage.
Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy and strong analytical skills.
Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.
Willing to travel for site visits when required.
Willing to work in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience handling commercial offices, retail, hospitality, F&B, residential, or mixed-use projects.
Experience preparing production drawings for custom furniture.
Familiarity with local construction standards and interior detailing.
Knowledge of quantity take-off (QTO) is an advantage.
Experience using project management or collaboration tools is a plus.
