Job Description

The Lighting Designer / Smart Lighting Specialist will be responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating architectural lighting systems integrated with smart home technologies. The role combines creative lighting design with technical understanding of lighting control systems such as DALI, KNX, Zigbee, and smart automation platforms.

The candidate will work closely with interior designers, architects, electrical consultants, and smart home programmers to deliver premium lighting experiences for residential and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop architectural lighting concepts based on project requirements and interior design direction.

• Prepare lighting layouts, lighting calculations, and fixture specifications.

• Design lighting scenes and mood settings for luxury residential environments.

• Coordinate lighting control systems including:

1. DALI

2. KNX

3. Zigbee

4. Smart dimming systems

5. Scene control integration

• Select suitable luminaires, LED specifications, beam angles, CRI, and color temperatures.

• Produce technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and lighting documentation.

• Work closely with the smart home programming team during commissioning.

• Conduct lighting focus adjustments and on-site testing.

• Support clients with lighting demonstrations and scene presentations.

• Coordinate with suppliers and contractors during project execution.

• Ensure all lighting systems meet project standards, functionality, and aesthetic goals.

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor degree in:

• Interior Design

• Architecture

• Electrical Engineering

• Lighting Design

• Related field

• Understanding of architectural lighting principles

• Familiar with lighting control systems such as:

1. DALI

2. KNX

3. Casambi

4. Zigbee

5. Smart dimming systems

• Knowledge of LED technology, CRI, beam angles, dimming curves, and color tuning

• Ability to read electrical and architectural drawings

• Experience using AutoCAD, Dialux EVO, SketchUp, or similar software

• Understanding of luxury residential lighting standards is preferred

• Personal Qualifications

• Strong aesthetic sense and attention to detail

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Passionate about smart technology and modern lighting

• Problem-solving mindset

• Able to work independently and within a team

• Willing to travel for project site visits if required

Preferred Experience

• Experience in luxury residential, villa, hospitality, or high-end commercial projects

• Experience with smart home brands and lighting control systems

• Knowledge of tunable white and human-centric lighting

• Experience in lighting scene programming is a plus
