Blacksmith Coffee Roastery is launching a new barista training program in Bali, and we are looking for an experienced Barista Trainer or a skilled barista who is ready to grow into a teaching role.

We are looking for someone who is not only confident behind the coffee bar, but also able to explain, demonstrate, guide, and inspire students. This role is ideal for a professional barista who wants to develop as a trainer, coffee educator, and part of a growing roastery-based education project.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct practical barista training sessions for beginner and intermediate students

• Teach students how to work with espresso machines, grinders, and basic bar equipment

• Explain coffee fundamentals, including beans, roasting, grinding, extraction, taste balance, and drink recipes

• Train students in espresso preparation, milk steaming, cappuccino, latte, americano, and other core coffee drinks

• Teach confident latte art techniques

• Guide students on grind adjustment, dosing, extraction time, workflow, and recipe correction

• Teach bar cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and professional barista standards

• Give clear feedback and evaluate student progress

• Help develop and improve Blacksmith’s barista course program, training materials, and teaching standards

• Participate in cupping sessions, workshops, and coffee events when needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a professional barista

• Strong practical skills with espresso machines and grinders

• Confident latte art skills

• Good understanding of extraction, taste balance, coffee recipes, and basic sensory skills

• Ability to explain coffee concepts in a simple and practical way

• Patient, communicative, and comfortable working with beginners

• Clean, organized, and disciplined working style

• Passion for coffee education and willingness to grow as a trainer

• Responsible, punctual, and professional attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a barista trainer, mentor, or course instructor

• Experience in specialty coffee

• Participation in coffee competitions, cupping sessions, or coffee events

• Knowledge of SCA standards or completion of professional coffee courses

• English language skills

• Experience teaching both individual students and small groups

• Interest in coffee roasting and roastery operations
