Your Role in this Journey:
Responsible for evaluating and enhancing clients' overall well-being holistically — covering physical, emotional, mental, and behavioral aspects — through individual, group, or family sessions focused on stress management, emotional regulation, and lifestyle balance.
Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that are continuously monitored and adjusted based on each client's progress.
Applying body therapy techniques to help clients build healthy habits, resilience, and a strong mind-body connection.
Providing physical therapy services such as postural rehabilitation, muscle recovery, and manual therapies including body alignment therapy, deep rest therapy, and motion balance, along with customized wellness treatments tailored to individual needs.
Collaborating with specialists in yoga, Pilates, barre, and fitness to design integrative programs that complement therapy goals, while maintaining a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
Building professional relationships with clients through empathetic and clear communication.
Committing to ongoing professional development by continuously learning new modalities aligned with Daewoong's science-driven wellness philosophy.
Who We’re Excited to Meet:
Required Skills:
Ideal Candidate Profile :
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Massage Therapy, Physiotherapy, or related field
Certification as a Spa Therapist or Massage Therapist from BNSP Certification.
Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Spa Therapist in a spa, resort, or wellness center environment
Skills:
Strong understanding of human anatomy, posture, and body movement
Skilled in holistic manual techniques (deep tissue, sports massage, balinese, lymphatic drainage, etc.)
Experience in providing treatments for stress relief, muscle recovery, and postural correction
Ability to assess client conditions and tailor body therapy sessions accordingly
Knowledge of rehabilitation or wellness-based exercise principles (core, mobility, flexibility)
Interest in integrating therapies with movement programs such as yoga, barre, pilates or functional training
Basic English communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
Personality:
Detail-oriented and professional
Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with clients
Empathetic and able to understand client needs
Preferred Qualification:
1. Technical Skills & Knowledge
Qualified & certified – Holds a recognized senior high school/vocational certificate and certificate in massage therapy, esthetics, or spa therapy (local equivalent, and BNSP certification).
Skilled in multiple modalities – Swedish, balinesse, deep tissue, hot stone, aromatherapy, kids massage, and ideally reflexology or sports massage, etc.
Familiar with spa equipment – Steam rooms, hot stone, saunas, hydrotherapy tubs, and facial machines, etc.
Hygiene & safety – Knows sanitation protocols, towel handling, oil disposal, and client aftercare, etc.
2. Personal Attributes
Empathetic & intuitive – Can sense a client’s mood and physical tension without over-asking.
Physically fit & resilient – Has stamina for 5–6 treatments per day, good body mechanics to avoid injury.
Calm presence – Remains grounded even when the spa is busy or a client is difficult.
Professional boundaries – Friendly but not overly familiar; knows how to handle inappropriate behavior.
3. Soft Skills
Active listener – Asks the right questions (Firmer pressure or lighter?) and remembers regular clients’ preferences.
Time management – Starts and ends sessions on time; turns over the room in 5–10 minutes.
Upselling ability – Naturally suggests add-ons (e.g., adding more time massage, body scrub, facial treatments, etc) without being pushy.
Team player – Helps reception with towels, covers for a colleague, and doesn’t complain about late bookings.
4. Attitude & Fit with Spa Culture
Genuinely enjoys helping people relax – Not just there for a paycheck.
Discreet – Never gossips about clients or colleagues.
Open to feedback – Will accept coaching on pressure or draping techniques.
Reliable – Shows up on time, rarely calls in sick, and gives notice for time off.
Has to be clean all over body (no bad smells from mouth, armpit, etc) and smells great
5. Bonus Points (What makes them stand out)
Speaks a second language common among clients (English).
Knows basic anatomy/physiology (can work safely with injuries or medical conditions).
Has experience with hot/cold stone, bamboo massage, or prenatal massage, etc.
Brings a small repeat clientele from previous job (without violating non-solicit agreements).
