About the role

Peachblossoms National Plus School is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Mandarin Teacher for Kindergarten and Primary Grade to join the Education team. This is a full-time position based in Bekasi, West Java. As a Mandarin Teacher, you will play a vital role in introducing young learners to the Chinese language and culture during their formative years. Your expertise will help build a strong foundation in Mandarin communication, cultural awareness, and linguistic skills that will benefit our students throughout their educational journey.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging Mandarin language lessons tailored to the cognitive and developmental levels of kindergarten and primary-grade students

• Create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages language acquisition through interactive activities, games, songs, and storytelling

• Assess student progress in language comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and maintain detailed records of their development

• Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements in Mandarin language learning

• Collaborate with other educators to integrate Mandarin language learning across the curriculum where appropriate

• Participate in school events, cultural celebrations, and professional development activities

What we're looking for

Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese with strong spoken and written communication skills

• Formal qualification or certification in teaching Mandarin as a foreign language

• Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching Mandarin to young learners in an educational setting

• Demonstrated understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate teaching methodologies

• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues

• Proficiency in English to facilitate communication within the school community

• Creativity and innovation in curriculum design and lesson planning

• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for teaching young children

• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students

• Preferred: Experience with international or bilingual educational settings
