About the Role
At Garo Kobo, we believe great food is crafted with passion, consistency, and attention to detail. We are looking for a dedicated Kitchen Cook (Pastry & Hot Kitchen) to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on kitchen role where you will be responsible for both cooking and baking, supporting all sections of the kitchen according to daily operational needs. From preparing artisan pastries and desserts to assisting with savory dishes and daily food preparation, you will play an important role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations while consistently delivering high-quality food to our guests.

Key Responsibilities
Food & Pastry Preparation
Prepare and cook both savory and pastry menu items according to Garo Kobo's recipes and quality standards.
Bake breads, pastries, cookies, cakes, and desserts.
Prepare hot kitchen menu items including mise en place, sauces, proteins, and side dishes.
Assist in developing new seasonal food and pastry menus.
Ensure consistency in taste, texture, presentation, and portioning across all menu items.
Monitor the freshness and quality of all products before service.
Daily Kitchen Operations
Prepare ingredients and complete daily mise en place before service.
Support all kitchen sections based on operational needs.
Ensure all food is prepared efficiently during service hours.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen workstations.
Follow proper food storage, labeling, and FIFO procedures.
Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming ingredients and supplies.
Operational Support
Maintain food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
Monitor ingredient inventory and report stock shortages.
Assist with stock counts and inventory management.
Minimize food waste while maintaining product quality.
Operate and maintain kitchen equipment responsibly.
Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Support other operational duties as assigned by the Head Chef or management.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working in a café, bakery, restaurant, or commercial kitchen (minimum 1 year preferred).
Has experience in both cooking and baking, or is willing to learn both disciplines.
Is passionate about food, baking, and hospitality.
Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Pays strong attention to detail and consistency.
Has a positive attitude and enjoys working as part of a team.
Is responsible, disciplined, and maintains high standards of cleanliness.
Is willing to learn new techniques and continuously improve.
Can work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts as required.
Bonus if you have experience with:
Artisan bread or pastry production
Japanese-inspired cuisine
Specialty café or brunch kitchen operations
Food costing and inventory management
