PS Core Engineer

About the role

PT. Nexwave Indonesia is looking for an experienced PS Core Engineer with strong hands-on experience and deep technical understanding of Packet Switched (PS) Core Network. The role involves monitoring and managing PS Core Network performance, troubleshooting packet core network elements, analyzing signaling and protocol issues, and coordinating with multiple teams for end-to-end network support.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage PS Core Network performance, availability, and service quality

• Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation for Packet Core network elements and services

• Analyze signaling, protocol, KPI, alarm, and traffic issues related to PS Core

• Handle incidents involving data services, mobility, session management, and packet connectivity

• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for PS Core incidents and recurring issues

• Analyze signaling and traffic flows to identify issues across different network interfaces

• Coordinate with NOC, RAN, Transport, IP, Transmission, Vendor, and Customer teams for end-to-end troubleshooting

• Support configuration, integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of PS Core network elements

• Monitor and analyze key PS Core KPIs, traffic trends, capacity, and service performance

• Support network expansion, migration, upgrade, and implementation activities

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in PS Core / Packet Core Network

• Strong hands-on experience in PS Core operation, troubleshooting, and performance analysis

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in GGSN / SGSN for 2G/3G Packet Core

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in MME, SGW, PGW for 4G EPC

• Strong understanding of 3GPP PS Core architecture and signaling

• Familiar with key interfaces and protocols: Gn / Gp, S1-MME, S11, S5/S8, S6a, S1-U, Gx / Gy, Diameter, GTP-C / GTP-U, DNS, SIP / TCP / UDP

• Able to understand and analyze signaling flow and packet flow

• Experience with Wireshark / packet capture analysis is highly preferred

• Understanding of APN, PDP Context / EPS Bearer, Attach, TAU, Service Request, Dedicated Bearer, and Session Management

• Familiar with LTE/EPC architecture and interworking between RAN, Core, and Transport/IP networks

• Experience with Huawei PS Core is highly preferred

• Experience working in a Telecommunication Operator or Vendor environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Good communication and coordination skills

• Able to work under pressure and handle major network incidents

• Willing to work in a 24/7 operational environment if required
