Senior Civil Engineer

About the role

Meinhardt Indonesia is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering consultancy team. We are looking for an experienced Civil Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in engineering consultancy and hands-on capability in the planning, design, calculation and delivery of civil infrastructure works for building developments and complex projects. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working within a consultant-led environment, coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines, clients and project stakeholders from concept design through detailed design, tender and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake and review civil infrastructure planning and design, including site grading, roads, drainage, stormwater systems, external utilities and site development works.

• Prepare and review engineering calculations, design reports, drawings, specifications, BOQ and tender documentation.

• Perform drainage and hydrology assessments, road and pavement design, grading and earthworks analysis, and associated civil engineering calculations.

• Develop civil design solutions from concept, schematic/preliminary design through detailed design / DED and tender stages.

• Coordinate civil infrastructure design with Architecture, Structural, MEP, Landscape, BIM and other relevant disciplines.

• Review technical submissions, contractor queries, shop drawings and proposed design modifications during construction.

• Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews, technical meetings and client presentations.

• Provide technical guidance to junior civil engineers and designers.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable Indonesian regulations, project requirements and relevant engineering standards.

• Support value engineering, design optimisation and technical problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.

• Preferably 8+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantial exposure to an engineering consultancy / civil infrastructure design consultancy / multidisciplinary design consultancy.

• Strong hands-on experience in civil infrastructure design, particularly roads, grading, drainage, stormwater, external utilities and site development.

• Demonstrable ability to prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, design reports, technical specifications and BOQ.

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant Civil Engineering design software. Civil 3D capability would be advantageous.

• Good understanding of consultant-side project delivery, including design coordination, tender documentation, technical queries and construction support.

• Experience in developments such as Data Centres, commercial buildings, residential developments, industrial/manufacturing facilities, hospitals, mixed-use developments or other complex built-environment projects would be advantageous.

• Strong communication, coordination and technical problem-solving skills.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

Important: This position is focused on Civil Infrastructure Design. Candidates whose experience is predominantly Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Oil & Gas Civil Engineering, construction supervision or site execution without significant design consultancy exposure may not be aligned with the requirements of this role.
