Lead Design Engineer

The Lead Design Engineer is responsible for lead multiple large scale projects while working with global teams. Performs failure analysis, investigates and troubleshoots issues, coordinates all work within the scope. and ensures projects objectives are met. Prepares/reviews documents including cost estimates, appropriation requests, project schedules, design and instruction specifications, operating manuals, and technical reports. Understand and incorporate external trends into relevant projects.

The function, as a remote integrated technical resource, provides technical services (Designing, Drafting and Basic Stress Analysis) for the sites outside Asia Region like US and Europe and provides functional support for the new product development process for Asia sites.

Job Qualification:

• Proficiency in computer aided design and Solid Modeling. Experience in Catia (primary), or Pro-E tool (optional).

• Experience working in PDM environments such as: Enovia/MatixOne (primary) or Pro Intralink (optional).

• Proficiency in Stress Analysis tools: ANSYS, Fatigue Analysis, etc.

• Knowledge of GD&T and mechanical design.

• Knowledge of Electrification, E-Mobility and Digitalization design

• Review of component and assembly drawings.

• Leads challenging technical projects and is self directed.

• Troubleshooting skills for product and tooling related issues.

• Completes conceptual/clean sheet designs for less complex technical domains, or detailed design work for projects

• Designs for risks, design trade-off, and component interactions

• perform root cause analysis as per Mechanical Failure Analysis (Fatigue / Fracture / Corrosion / Wear) and improve the design to prevent the failures

• Capable of adhering to process procedure and comfortable working within a structured engineering document control system.

• Independently performs assignments with minimal guidance and understands the business impact of different solutions

• Require a high degree of interaction with Customers or Vendors and also with other departments such as Quality, Production, Machine Shop and Purchasing, etc.

• Ability and maturity to lead and manage the projects efficiently to met the company goals. Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently.

• Must have effective written and verbal communication abilities (speak and write) in English.

Basic Qualifications :

• Degree in Aeronautical/ Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, ,Master Degree in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering will be an advantage

• At least 8 years experience in Design Engineering environment with solid career progression.

• Highly conversant in Microsoft Office application software.

• Proven Application of advanced engineering principles, theories, and concepts.

• Proficient at application of appropriate tools & processes such as Design For Six Sigma or Lean.

• Advanced skills for design for manufacturing and cost

• Sound command of written & spoken English

• Must be able to work with little or no supervision and be a self-motivated individual.

• Display Initiative and willingness to learn new disciplines and accept responsibility.
