Crewing Officer

We are seeking a Crewing Officer to join our team in Batam. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing crew-related activities to ensure the availability, compliance, and smooth deployment of qualified seafarers for vessel operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct end-to-end recruitment of seafarers/crew based on vessel manning requirements.

• Source and identify qualified candidates through various recruitment channels, databases, networks, and manning agencies.

• Screen CVs and evaluate candidates based on rank, experience, qualifications, certifications, and vessel requirements.

• Conduct interviews and coordinate technical interviews with relevant departments or vessel management.

• Verify crew certificates, licenses, medical fitness, sea service records, and other required documentation.

• Maintain and update the company's crew database and pool of qualified candidates.

• Coordinate crew selection and placement according to vessel schedules and operational requirements.

• Maintain a sufficient pool of qualified and available crew for current and future vessel requirements.

• Coordinate with Masters, vessel management, manning agencies, and other relevant stakeholders regarding crew requirements.

• Arrange and coordinate sign-on and sign-off processes for selected crew.

• Monitor crew availability, contract status, and document validity.

• Ensure all recruited crew comply with company requirements and applicable maritime regulations.

• Prepare recruitment and crewing reports for management.

• Build and maintain good relationships with seafarers and external recruitment/manning agencies.

• Perform other crewing-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Maritime, Shipping, Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Crewing/Manning, preferably in a shipping or maritime company.

• Good understanding of crew recruitment, crew changes, sign-on/sign-off procedures, and seafarer documentation.

• Familiar with seafarer certificates and applicable maritime requirements.

• Knowledge of STCW and MLC is an advantage.

• Good command of English, both written and spoken.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

• Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.

• Detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work under pressure.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willing to work flexible hours according to operational requirements.

• Willing to be based in Batam, Kepulauan Riau.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience handling crew for tug boats, barges, and oil barges.

• Experience working in a shipping, ship management, or maritime company.

• Familiarity with Flag State requirements.

• Experience using crew management or crewing software.
