Job Description
Lead and oversee all Port Captain activities within the Project area to ensure marine operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in alignment with the Company's operational objectives.
Supervise the movement of all vessels operating within the project area, including vessels, tugboats, barges, and Floating Loading Facilities (FLF), to ensure smooth and efficient marine operations.
Ensure all loading and unloading activities are executed in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), HSE standards, applicable port regulations, and maritime legislation.
Coordinate with the FLF team, Operation Control, marine service providers, Ship Masters, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure operational readiness and seamless execution of marine activities.
Monitor vessel schedules, fleet utilization, facility availability, and cargo handling operations to achieve operational productivity and service performance targets.
Identify operational and safety risks, and ensure appropriate mitigation measures and corrective actions are effectively implemented.
Ensure full compliance with company policies, port regulations, maritime authority requirements, and applicable health, safety, and environmental standards.
Analyze marine operational performance, including fleet productivity, loading and unloading efficiency, vessel turnaround time, and facility utilization, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
Evaluate overall marine operational performance and ensure timely follow-up on operational incidents, non-conformities, and operational challenges.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Nautical Science, Marine Transportation, Naval Architecture, Transportation Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Marine Operations, Port Operations, or the Shipping industry, including at least 3 years in a Supervisor or Assistant Manager role.
Proven experience in managing Bulk Carrier, Tug & Barge, Floating Loading Facility (FLF), or coal terminal operations.
Strong understanding of port operations, maritime regulations, navigational safety, HSE requirements, ISM Code, and marine operational best practices.
Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor operational performance, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Willing to be based at either the Head Office or project site, depending on the Company's operational requirements.
