HR SUPERVISOR (Mandarin Speaker)

About the role

PT HUAYOU INDONESIA RESOURCE RECYCLING is seeking an HR Supervisor (Mandarin Speaker) to join our Human Resources team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, based in Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi. As HR Supervisor, you will play a crucial part in supporting the delivery of human resources functions across the company, acting as a bridge between management and staff whilst ensuring compliance with Indonesian labour regulations. This position requires fluency in Mandarin Chinese, reflecting our international operations and the diverse nature of our workforce. The role combines generalist HR expertise with supervisory responsibilities, making it essential to the smooth operation of our people management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate HR administrative functions, including recruitment, employee onboarding, records management and payroll processing

• Support the implementation and administration of HR policies, procedures and compliance requirements in accordance with Indonesian labour law

• Manage employee relations enquiries, grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent treatment across the organisation

• Liaise with international management and staff, utilising Mandarin Chinese language skills to facilitate communication and resolve HR-related matters

• Coordinate training and development programmes to support employee growth and organisational capability

• Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards

• Assist with recruitment activities, including job advertising, candidate screening, interview coordination and employment contract preparation

• Monitor and report on HR metrics, workforce trends and recommendations to senior management

• Support the management of benefits administration, leave entitlements and other employee welfare programmes

• Liaise with external stakeholders, including government agencies and recruitment providers, on HR-related matters

What we're looking for

• Essential education and qualifications: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field

• Language proficiency: Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (both written and spoken) is mandatory; English proficiency is highly desirable

• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a generalist HR role or HR supervisory position, preferably in a multinational or industrial environment

• HR knowledge: Strong understanding of Indonesian labour laws, employment regulations and statutory compliance requirements

• Administrative skills: Proficiency in HR information systems, Microsoft Office Suite and database management

• Communication abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues professionally

• Organisational competence: Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Problem-solving capability: Demonstrated ability to identify HR challenges and propose practical, effective solutions

• Cultural awareness: Sensitivity to cultural differences and experience working in multicultural environments
