micro1 is engaging Scientific Computing Experts to contribute their advanced technical expertise to a customer’s groundbreaking project in the STEM domain. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. This opportunity is ideal for professionals enthusiastic about the intersection of advanced computational science and artificial intelligence, and who excel at articulating complex technical workflows both in writing and verbally.

Scope of Work

1. Provide detailed examples of real-world applications where AI coding agents have been integrated into complex scientific computing workflows.
2. Demonstrate and document the use of AI agents—specifically Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork—in navigating large codebases, debugging, and feature implementation.
3. Produce high-quality written narratives and verbal explanations of your technical approaches, challenges encountered, and problem-solving strategies.
4. Assess and describe the practical impact of AI agentics on tackling ambiguous requirements, architectural updates, or full-cycle project scenarios.
5. Submit clear, structured feedback on the strengths, limitations, and potential improvements for current AI tools in scientific computing contexts.
6. Contribute real-world data, scripts, or code samples generated through AI agentics (specifically using agents to generate sequences rather than simple chatbox queries).

Preferred Qualifications

1. Current STEM professional with significant experience in scientific computing and hands-on AI tool integration.
2. Proficiency in using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork for advanced technical tasks beyond basic code completion.
3. Demonstrated ability to apply AI agents to large-scale, ambiguous, or complex engineering and research challenges.
4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for conveying intricate technical concepts and processes.
5. Experience providing structured feedback and thorough documentation for technical processes and tool evaluation.
6. Track record of using AI agentics to generate output or code sequences in professional, real-world scenarios.
7. Passion for advancing the capabilities of AI in STEM applications and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach.
