Job Overview
We are on the lookout for a visionary Industrial Designer to shape the physical form and user experience of our smartphone lineup. You will bring together aesthetics, ergonomics, and engineering feasibility to create devices that users love to hold, use, and own.
Job Description
• Lead the industrial design process from concept ideation to production-ready design deliverables.
• Create detailed sketches, 3D models, and prototypes using industry-standard design software.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineering, materials science, and manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate and iterate on design concepts.
• Define and maintain design language systems, color/material/finish (CMF) guidelines, and brand identity standards.
• Manage design documentation including technical drawings, tolerances, and assembly specifications.
• Work closely with supply chain and OEM/ODM partners during design verification and mass production phases.
• Stay abreast of global design trends, emerging materials, and manufacturing innovations.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• 4+ years of industrial design experience, with a strong portfolio in consumer electronics.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Rhino, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Alias.
• Strong command of design rendering software (Keyshot, V-Ray, Adobe Suite).
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes including CNC, injection molding, die casting, and surface finishing.
• Excellent spatial reasoning, visual communication, and storytelling skills.
• Experience working within cross-functional hardware development teams.
• MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business discipline or having exposure of study abroad will be a plus point.
• Be able to speak mandarin will be a plus point.
Nice To Have
• Experience designing flagship smartphones or wearable devices.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and eco-friendly material sourcing.
• Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
• Experience presenting design concepts to C-suite executives or external partners.
