Customs Clearance Staff – PPJK Team

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Customs Clearance Staff to join the PPJK (Perusahaan Pengurusan Jasa Kepabeanan) team at PT Shoulder International Logistics. This is a full-time position based in West Jakarta, Jakarta. As Customs Clearance Staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and compliant customs clearance processes for our import and export operations. Your expertise will be fundamental to maintaining our reputation as a trusted customs broker and facilitating seamless international trade for our clients.

Key responsibilities

1. Processing customs documentation and preparing customs declarations for import and export shipments in accordance with Indonesian customs regulations

2. Liaising with customs authorities and port authorities to facilitate the clearance of goods and resolve any documentation issues

3. Verifying accuracy and completeness of shipping documents, commercial invoices, bills of lading and certificates of origin

4. Calculating customs duties, taxes and other charges applicable to shipments and providing cost estimates to clients

5. Monitoring shipment status and tracking goods throughout the customs clearance process to ensure timely delivery

6. Maintaining accurate records of all customs transactions and maintaining compliance documentation for audit purposes

7. Communicating with clients, freight forwarders and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status and address any concerns

8. Identifying and reporting any compliance issues or irregularities to senior management

9. Supporting the PPJK team in day-to-day operations and assisting with special projects as needed

What we're looking for

1. A diploma or bachelor's degree in Customs, International Trade, Logistics or a related field

2. Proven experience working in customs clearance, customs brokerage or import/export operations

3. Strong knowledge of Indonesian customs regulations, import and export procedures, and international trade documentation requirements

4. Proficiency in using customs clearance software and systems, particularly experience with the Indonesian customs portal (INSW) or similar platforms

5. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to accurately process complex customs documentation

6. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously

7. Good communication skills in Indonesian and English, both written and verbal

8. A professional and reliable approach to work with the ability to meet strict deadlines

9. Knowledge of HS codes, tariff classification and cargo valuation is advantageous

10. PPJK certification or willingness to pursue certification would be highly valued
