Material Development Officer

Job Description:

1. Source and develop materials based on design, development, and production requirements.

2. Coordinate with vendors and follow up on swatches, color lab dips, strike-offs, and material samples throughout the development process.

3. Support and facilitate material development approvals while ensuring compliance with development and production standards.

4. Evaluate and compare material alternatives based on MOQ, lead time, cost, quality, and availability.

5. Maintain and update material data, development records, and related documentation in the ERP system (Odoo).

6. Manage and organize the material library, swatches, and material database to ensure accurate tracking and accessibility.

7. Monitor material development activities and ensure timely completion of sourcing, sampling, documentation, and archiving processes.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.

2. Minimum 1–2 years of experience in Material Development, Product Development, Innovation & Development, R&D, Apparel, Fashion, Retail, or Manufacturing industries.

3. Strong understanding of fashion fabrics and accessory materials, including the ability to interpret material specifications such as weight, composition, and construction.

4. Familiarity with procurement processes, vendor management, and ERP systems (preferably Odoo or similar platforms), with strong administrative and documentation skills.

5. Excellent communication, negotiation, multitasking, and time management skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

6. Willing to work fully on-site in Bintaro, Tangerang Selatan.
