WELDING ENGINEER

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all welding operations, ensuring compliance with international welding standards and company quality specifications

• Conduct welding inspections and testing to verify structural integrity and material compatibility of welded joints

• Develop, review and update welding procedures and specifications in accordance with relevant technical codes and industry standards

• Train and supervise welding personnel, ensuring they follow approved welding procedures and maintain safe working practices

• Perform quality control inspections using non-destructive testing methods such as radiography, ultrasonic testing and visual inspection

• Troubleshoot welding defects and implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence

• Maintain detailed records and documentation of all welding activities, inspections and test results

• Liaise with production teams, maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure smooth welding operations

• Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs

• Ensure full compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations throughout all welding activities

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in welding engineering, metallurgy or a related engineering discipline

• Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a Welding Engineer or in a similar welding-related role within a manufacturing or industrial environment

• In-depth knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, stick welding and submerged arc welding

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, welding symbols and engineering specifications

• Strong understanding of welding codes and standards such as AWS (American Welding Society), ISO or equivalent international standards

• Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and quality assurance procedures

• Demonstrated ability to conduct inspections, testing and documentation with meticulous attention to detail

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience training and supervising welding personnel

• Proficiency in relevant software and computer systems for documentation and quality control

• Safety-focused mindset with commitment to maintaining high health and safety standards

• Preferably fluent in English; knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is advantageous
