Electrical Panel Design & Manufacturing Engineer / Technician

About the role

PT Southern Chemicals & Engineering is seeking a skilled Electrical Panel Design & Manufacturing Engineer / Technician to join our engineering team in North Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the design, development, and manufacturing of electrical panels for our chemical and engineering operations. You will be responsible for translating technical specifications into functional electrical panel designs whilst ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This role is integral to maintaining the quality and reliability of our electrical infrastructure and contributing to the success of our projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design electrical panels and schematics using CAD software, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and industry standards

• Conduct technical drawings and documentation for electrical panel layouts, wiring diagrams and component placements

• Oversee the manufacturing and assembly of electrical panels, ensuring quality control and compliance with design specifications

• Test electrical panels and components to verify functionality, safety and performance before delivery

• Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand requirements and provide technical solutions

• Perform troubleshooting and provide recommendations for design improvements and optimisation

• Maintain accurate records of manufacturing processes, testing results and project documentation

• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards and company policies

• Support the installation and commissioning of electrical panels on-site where required

What we're looking for

• Qualification: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field

• Technical expertise in electrical panel design and manufacturing processes

• Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar electrical design tools)

• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and safety regulations (IEC, NFPA or equivalent)

• Experience in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings

• Hands-on experience with electrical components, circuit boards and panel assembly

• Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Preferred experience: Previous experience in the chemical, petrochemical or industrial engineering sector

• Preferred experience: Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and industrial automation
