Resources Geologist

Job responsibilities:

1. Geological Modelling & Resource Evaluation:
   Manage geological databases and maintain data integrity.
   Develop geological models and block models.
   Prepare mineral resource estimations in accordance with recognised industry standards.
   Support resource classification and reserve conversion processes.
   Review drilling results and recommend additional exploration programmes.

2. Technical Support:
   Provide geological and mine planning support to mining operations.
   Conduct ore control and grade reconciliation.
   Analyze deviations between mine plans and actual production.
   Recommend corrective actions to improve operational performance.

3. Technical Due Diligence:
   Evaluate mining projects from both technical and economic perspectives.
   Support feasibility studies, project development, and investment analysis.
   Conduct technical due diligence for mining acquisitions and new project opportunities.
   Supervise field data collection including mapping, testpit, drilling and sampling activities.

4. Reporting & Governance Ensure compliance of Good Mining Practice, and applicable regulations. Monitor departmental budgets and resource utilization. Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the Technical Services function.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Geology/Geological Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the exploration and evaluation of laterite nickel resources and reserves. Cross-commodity experience, such as coal and gold, is a plus.

• Experience managing mining operations and open-pit mine planning.

• Proficiency in mapping and resource and reserve estimation software (ArcGIS, Surpac, Leapfrog). Proficiency in scheduling software such as Vulcan and Minesched is a plus.

• Having a Class A driver's license (SIM A)
