Askep Tissue Culture Production

The Askep of Tissue Culture Production is responsible for supporting the Production Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising the commercial production of sugarcane tissue culture plantlets. The role ensures efficient production workflows, adherence to quality standards, achievement of production targets, and effective supervision of laboratory personnel while maintaining aseptic conditions and operational excellence.?

Job Descriptions:

1. Assist in preparing weekly and monthly production plans based on demand and production targets.?

2. Coordinate all production stages, including explant initiation, shoot multiplication, rooting, and acclimatization.?

3. Monitor daily production output to ensure timely completion of scheduled activities.?

4. Optimize labor allocation and workflow efficiency.?

5. Supervise Tissue Culture Technicians, Laboratory Assistants, and Production Operators.?

6. Assign daily work schedules and monitor task completion.?

7. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).?

8. Conduct regular performance monitoring and provide technical guidance.?

9. Monitor contamination levels and implement corrective and preventive actions.?

10. Ensure production of healthy, genetically uniform, and disease-free sugarcane plantlets.?

11. Verify media preparation, sterilization procedures, and aseptic handling practices.?

12. Support quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.?

13. Ensure proper preparation of culture media and sterilization of equipment.?

14. Monitor environmental conditions in culture rooms.?

15. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.?

16. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize equipment downtime.?

17. Monitor stock levels of media components, chemicals, consumables, and laboratory supplies.?

18. Prepare material requests and support procurement planning.?

19. Minimize wastage of laboratory materials through efficient inventory control.?

20. Maintain accurate production records and batch traceability.?

21. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.?

22. Monitor key production indicators such as:? Production output, multiplication rate, contamination rate, rooting success and aclimitization survival rate.

23. Report production issues and recommend corrective actions.

24. ?Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and biosafety standards.?

25. Maintain laboratory cleanliness and proper waste disposal practices.?

26. Promote a safe working environment through regular safety inspections and staff awareness.?

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Plant Biotechnology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Plant Science, Botany, or a related field.?

2. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial plant tissue culture production.?

3. Experience in sugarcane micropropagation is highly preferred.?

4. Previous supervisory experience is an advantage.?

1. Strong knowledge of sugarcane tissue culture production processes.?

2. Expertise in aseptic techniques and contamination control.?

3. Understanding of laboratory production planning and workflow management.?

4. Experience with fungal and bacterial contaminant identification.
