Sound Engineer

The Sound Engineer manages all aspects of audio production for school events, performances, and multimedia projects. This role requires the employee to work closely with the school’s performing arts, events, and communication teams to ensure high-quality sound for various occasions..

Specific Expectations

Setting Up & Operating Equipment

• Manage and operate microphones, mixers, amplifiers, soundboards, and other audio equipment.

• Ensure all sound systems function optimally for daily use, assemblies, and special events.

Mixing & Balancing Sound

• Adjust volume levels, equalization, and effects to create clear, high-quality sound.

• Fine-tune live and recorded audio to enhance clarity and impact.

Recording & Editing Audio

• Capture and refine soundtracks for school performances, videos, podcasts, and other media.

• Edit and enhance recordings to ensure professional sound quality.

 Live Sound Management

• Ensure proper acoustics and audio clarity during concerts, theater performances, assemblies, and school events.

• Coordinate with performers, teachers, and event organizers to optimize sound production.

Troubleshooting Technical Issues

• Diagnose and resolve sound-related problems quickly and effectively.

• Maintain and repair audio equipment as needed to ensure reliability.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Sound Engineer, preferably in live event or educational settings.

• Proficiency in using soundboards, mixing consoles, and digital audio software.

• Strong understanding of acoustics, equalization, and sound balancing.

• Ability to work under pressure and problem-solve in live settings.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with staff and students.

• Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality sound output.
