We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and professional Shadow Teachers to support children with special educational needs in inclusive school settings. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping children reach their full potential while working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and therapists.
Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Education, Special Education, or Psychology.
* Minimum 2 years of experience working with children with special needs (ASD, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Learning Disabilities, or other developmental conditions).
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
* Able to communicate in daily Japanese.
* Strong understanding of inclusive education and classroom support.
* Knows how to modify, adapt, and deliver learning materials using different teaching approaches based on each student's individual learning needs.
* Patient, responsible, and committed to child safety and professional ethics.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Willing to be placed at schools across Jakarta.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one classroom support for students with special educational needs.
* Assist students in achieving academic, behavioral, social, and emotional goals.
* Implement intervention strategies based on guidance from supervisors and therapists.
* Support classroom participation while promoting student independence.
* Modify classroom activities and learning materials according to the student's abilities and learning style.
* Record daily observations and prepare progress reports.
* Collaborate with parents, classroom teachers, therapists, and supervisors.
* Ensure the student's safety and well-being throughout the school day.
* Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in international or national-plus schools.
* Experience implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
* Familiarity with visual supports, sensory regulation strategies, and differentiated instruction.
