Maintenance Technician (Operator Level)

Job Requirements

• Education & Background:

  • Minimum Vocational High School (SMK) diploma majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Automation.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience in the Food & Beverage (F&B), Dairy, or Ice Cream industries.

• Technical Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and instrumentation systems.

  • Proven track record in maintaining pre-treatment processing equipment, such as Pasteurizers, Homogenizers, Separators, Mixing Tanks, and CIP (Cleaning in Place) systems.

  • Solid troubleshooting background in filling and packaging machinery, including filling machines, cappers, labelers, coding machines, and conveyors.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).

  • Basic understanding of industrial automation systems, including PLCs, Inverters, sensors, and control systems.

  • Proficient in rapid troubleshooting and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) during unexpected machinery breakdowns.

• Standards & Soft Skills:

  • Solid understanding of industry standards, including GMP, HACCP, Food Safety (FSSC 22000 / ISO 22000), and Occupational Health & Safety (EHS/K3).

  • High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Willingness to work in a shift system and be on call for urgent emergency maintenance tasks when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on pre-treatment and filling machinery in accordance with company SOPs and maintenance schedules.

• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues promptly to minimize production downtime.

• Pre-Treatment Equipment Oversight: Ensure optimal operation of all pre-treatment equipment, including mixing tanks, balance tanks, homogenizers, pasteurizers, separators, pumps, valves, piping systems, and CIP (Cleaning in Place) systems.

• Filling & Packaging Line Oversight: Maintain peak performance of filling and packaging lines, including filling machines, cappers, labelers, coding machines, conveyors, sensors, and control systems.

• Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of motors, sensors, pneumatic systems, utilities, mechanical components, and automation controls across all production equipment.

• Machine Calibration & Adjustment: Perform regular setup, fine-tuning, and adjustment of filling machines to ensure fill-volume accuracy and operational stability.

• Root Cause Analysis: Investigate breakdown causes through root cause analysis (RCA) to prevent recurring mechanical, electrical, or system failures.

• Documentation & Record Keeping: Accurately log all maintenance activities, spare parts consumption, breakdown histories, and equipment logs.

• Cross-Departmental Coordination: Coordinate closely with Production, QA, Utility, and Engineering teams to schedule maintenance and ensure equipment readiness prior to production runs.

• Inventory & Tool Management: Manage and utilize spare parts and maintenance tools efficiently to ensure proper stock availability and cost-effective maintenance.

• Projects & Commissioning: Assist in the installation, modification, commissioning, and validation of new or upgraded pre-treatment and filling machinery.

• Continuous Improvement: Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and overall plant productivity.

• Safety & Quality Compliance: Execute all maintenance duties strictly adhering to GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, and Occupational Health & Safety (K3/EHS) standards.

• Workplace Hygiene: Maintain high standards of 5S cleanliness and hygiene in the work area, tools, and machinery post-maintenance.
