Job Summary
The Financial Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing high-quality customer support related to financial products and services. This role assists customers with account inquiries, transactions, billing concerns, payment processing, and general service requests while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and data privacy standards. The representative is expected to deliver accurate information, resolve issues efficiently, and provide an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding financial products, accounts, payments, transactions, and account services via phone, email, chat, or other communication channels.
- Assist customers with account maintenance, balance inquiries, payment processing, billing concerns, and transaction history.
- Verify customer identity and protect confidential financial information in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints, payment discrepancies, transaction issues, and account concerns in a timely manner.
- Process customer requests accurately, including account updates, payment arrangements, refunds, and service changes.
- Educate customers on available financial products, services, digital banking tools, and self-service options.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, transactions, and case resolutions using CRM and financial systems.
- Escalate complex account issues, fraud concerns, or regulatory matters to the appropriate department when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, anti-money laundering (AML) procedures, Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, data privacy regulations, and other applicable financial regulations.
- Meet established performance standards, including quality, productivity, customer satisfaction, and compliance metrics.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer issues and improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, banking, financial services, insurance, collections, or a related industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial products, payment processing, and customer account management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and CRM or financial management systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while managing multiple priorities.
