L1 Engineer - Storage, Backup & SAN

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine monitoring of storage array dashboards and backup consoles (such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, or Commvault).

• Process user requests for new data backups or data restores in accordance with company security procedures.

• Perform daily verification of all backup job statuses (Success, Failed, or Warning) and immediately rerun any failed jobs according to instructions.

• Execute daily operational tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), such as monitoring storage capacity (free space) and clearing system logs.

• Validate backup status consistently.

• Escalate promptly to L2 support if hardware issues (such as disk failures) or system failures that impact the SLA are detected.

 Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma/Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics Engineering, or a relevant IT field.

• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in storage administration, data backup operations, or data center support roles. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply and for fresh graduates, a minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.

• Strong basic knowledge of storage and backup systems.

• Familiarity with backup tools.

• Good basic knowledge of Linux.

• English Proficiency: Must be able to read technical documents (manuals) and write incident chronology reports in English.

• Willing to work in 24/7 shifts and able to adapt quickly to new technologies.

• Willing to be assigned to customer sites.

• Strong analytical skills to handle high-pressure situations and resolve issues rapidly.

• This role requires acceptance of a contract-based employment status.

Nice to have:

• Exposure to NetBackup or SAN (Storage Area Network).
