About the role

We are seeking a Tax & Accounting Specialist to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis in Surabaya, East Java. This is a pivotal position within our accounting division, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our tax and accounting functions. The specialist will be responsible for managing complex tax matters, preparing financial documentation, and providing strategic guidance on taxation issues. This role is essential to maintaining our commitment to regulatory compliance and financial excellence.

Key responsibilities

1. Prepare and file tax returns and other statutory tax documentation in compliance with Indonesian tax regulations via CoreTax.

2. Conduct tax planning and analysis to identify opportunities for tax optimisation and risk mitigation

3. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial records

4. Prepare financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders

5. Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements

6. Liaise with tax authorities and respond to tax inquiries and audits

7. Conduct internal audits and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and improve processes

8. Provide tax advisory support to management on transaction structuring and compliance matters

9. Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and accounting standards, implementing updates as necessary

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field

2. Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in tax and accounting roles

3. Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements

4. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

5. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in financial documentation

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex accounting matters

7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly

8. Professional certification such as Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan (BPK) accreditation or equivalent is highly desirable

9. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

10. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics
