The Junior Software Developer role is all about delivering technology solutions to support the Adminis product, and contributing to software development practices and quality.
This role will suit someone with a love of learning and curiosity to explore, try new ideas and new technologies to improve our product. Our ideal person will be passionate about problem-solving, with an ability to collaborate and bring others on the journey.
Key Responsibilities
Product Delivery
Become a technical subject matter expert with respect to one or more of Adminis product capabilities.
Work within a cross functional team on the design, build, integration and support of Adminis’ product capabilities.
Participate and contribute to sprint planning, identification of gap in specifications and providing solutions, timeframe estimation, and sprint retrospectives
Participate, contribute to, and lead aspects of architectural design and necessary technical specifications according to product requirements considering the larger picture and future technology roadmap.
Participate in, contribute to, and drive best practice and sharing of knowledge.
Technology leadership
Contribute to product idea gathering, scoping, specification and prototyping phases.
Contribute to improvements to development methodologies, coding conventions, development tools, frameworks, documentation standards and quality standards within the technology team.
Contribute to and give technical presentations and demonstrations to colleagues.
Grow knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences and reading widely; disseminate knowledge through the technical team.
Teamwork
Contribute to building a team culture that supports high performance and promotes openness of innovative ideas.
Collaborate with other team members
Contribute to staff knowledge and capabilities through performance improvement reviews.
Role Requirements
Education & Certification
Tertiary training in the field of computer science, business administration, or another science discipline.
Knowledge & Experience
Experience in application development, ideally in an Agile test-driven environment, and ideally using a statically typed language
Experience coding in and developing in Microsoft framework technologies, web technologies and web standards including C#, .NET, SQL Server, IIS, Visual Studio, WPF, ASP.NET, Web API + RESTful design is an advantage
Experience with TDD/automated testing is an advantage.
Experience and knowledge of the Financial Services industry and problem domain is an advantage.
