The Primary Co-Teacher / Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Classroom Teacher in delivering quality education to primary students. The role focuses on assisting with classroom activities, supporting student learning, and helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. The Co-Teacher works collaboratively with the Lead Teacher and other staff to support the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
Qualifications & Experience
●Experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred.
●Relevant degree in Education or a related field is an advantage.
●Minimum 2 work references from previous employers.
●Experience working in an international school environment is a plus.
●Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs or SEN will be an advantage.
●Police record check.
●Proficiency in English language.
●Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for learners.
●Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
●Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
●Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
●Basic computer literacy.
Duties & Responsibilities
●Assist the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering classroom activities and learning materials.
●Support students during lessons, group work, and independent learning activities.
●Help maintain a safe, positive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and positive behaviour.
●Provide additional support to individual students or small groups as directed by the Lead Teacher.
●Assist with classroom organization, preparation of teaching resources, and maintenance of learning materials.
●Support the monitoring of student progress and provide feedback to the Lead Teacher when necessary.
●Help supervise students during classroom transitions, recess, school activities, and excursions.
●Maintain positive relationships with students and contribute to a respectful classroom culture.
●Participate in school meetings, professional development sessions, and school activities when required.
●Assist in maintaining classroom records such as attendance and student documentation when needed.
●Follow and uphold all school policies and procedures.
●Support the overall well-being and development of students in the classroom.
