Telecom OSS Analyst

Responsibilities :

• Gather, analyze, and document requirements with operations stakeholders, Product Owners, and Architects; translate needs into user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and functional/system specifications. 
• Analyze and design end-to-end OSS service lifecycle flows, including service configuration, service order decomposition, activation/provisioning, inventory updates, and operational handover. 
• Analyze and design inventory and topology management behaviors (service inventory and resource/network inventory), including data model alignment and reconciliation rules. 
• Define functional logic for orchestration and automation, including workflow steps, dependencies, rollback/compensation behavior, and exception handling. 
• Define OSS assurance-related functional needs (fault/performance/service quality monitoring touchpoints, ticketing/alarm integration, and operational workflows) in collaboration with stakeholders. 
• Produce solution artifacts such as Functional Specification Documents (FSD), BPMN/UML process flows, sequence diagrams, integration contracts, and API specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger) when needed. 
• Document integration points and dependencies between OSS components and adjacent systems (BSS/channel/order, mediation/analytics, NMS/EMS, ticketing/ITSM), including payload and data mapping. 
• Act as the primary clarification point for Development and QA; support grooming, test scenario review, SIT/UAT readiness, and defect triage from a functional perspective. 
• Execute targeted PoCs/experiments to validate solution designs, test assumptions, and de-risk complex initiatives. 
• Maintain standards, reusable patterns, and a knowledge base for OSS modeling, orchestration patterns, and integration guidance. 

 Requirements :

• 2–3 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry as a System Analyst / Business Analyst / Solution Designer. 
• Strong understanding of at least one core OSS area, such as: Service activation/provisioning & configuration, Service inventory / resource (network) inventory, Orchestration/workflow automation, Assurance touchpoints (fault/performance/service quality workflows) 
• Demonstrable experience producing detailed technical documentation (FSD, API specs, UML/BPMN) and translating operational needs into technical requirements. 
• Strong analytical skills: can model complex service/resource scenarios, dependencies, and failure modes into clear solution logic. 
• Strong communication: able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
• Familiarity with TM Forum concepts and Open APIs (e.g., TMF640 Service Activation, TMF638 Service Inventory, TMF639 Resource Inventory) and eTOM/SID frameworks. 
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery and tools like Jira/Confluence. 
• Hands-on comfort with API testing tools (e.g., Postman) and basic scripting/analysis (SQL, Python) for data checks or payload generation. 
• Understanding of modern integration patterns (REST, SOAP, message queues) and event-driven design. 
• High-level knowledge of telco network/service domains (e.g., IP/MPLS, mobile core, transport, SD-WAN) sufficient to support OSS requirement discussions.
