Manager Legal

We are a fast-growing company operating in the Palm Oil Plantation and Palm Oil Mill industry. We are looking for an experienced and strategic Legal Manager to lead our corporate legal function and ensure legal compliance across our plantation and manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all legal matters for the company, including Head Office and operational sites.

• Provide legal advice and strategic recommendations to Management and the Board of Directors.

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage various commercial agreements, contracts, and legal documents.

• Ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.

• Handle litigation and non-litigation cases, including dispute resolution and legal risk management.

• Manage legal aspects related to land acquisition, land rights (HGU), plantation permits, OSS licensing, environmental compliance, and corporate permits.

• Liaise with government authorities, notaries, land agencies (BPN), external legal counsel, and other stakeholders.

• Support land dispute resolution and maintain effective relationships with local communities and government institutions.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks that may impact business operations.

• Lead, coach, and develop the Legal team while promoting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Law (Master's Degree is an advantage).

• Minimum 8 years of legal experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

• Proven experience in the Palm Oil Plantation and Palm Oil Mill industry is mandatory.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • Corporate Law

  • Contract Law

  • Land Law and HGU

  • Plantation Licensing (IUP)

  • OSS Business Licensing

  • Environmental Regulations (AMDAL)

  • Employment Law

  • Corporate Governance and Compliance

• Experience in land acquisition, legal due diligence, land dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.

• Strong leadership, negotiation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Willing to travel frequently to plantation estates and mill sites across Indonesia.

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Advocate (PERADI) is an advantage.

• Experience working with government agencies, local communities, and regulatory authorities.

• Familiarity with RSPO and ISPO certification requirements is highly preferred.
