Lead and oversee all airfreight import and export activities to ensure shipments are moved safely, compliantly, on time, and profitably while maintaining excellent customer service and strong airline partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Management
Manage daily air export and air import operations.
Ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with airline, customs, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor shipment milestones from booking to final delivery.
Resolve operational disruptions, delays, claims, and service failures.
Ensure KPI targets for transit time, service quality, and productivity are achieved.
2. Airline & Vendor Management
Negotiate rates and service agreements with airlines, GSAs, co-loaders, and handling agents.
Maintain strong relationships with carriers and airport stakeholders.
Monitor carrier performance and capacity availability.
Develop cost-effective routing and consolidation solutions.
3. Customer Management
Act as escalation point for key customers.
Ensure customer requirements and SOPs are implemented.
Support sales teams with airfreight solutions, quotations, and RFQs.
Drive service improvement and customer retention programs.
4. Compliance & Customs
Ensure compliance with:
Indonesian Customs regulations
IATA requirements
Aviation security regulations
DG Cargo (Dangerous Goods) requirements
Company SOPs and quality standards
Maintain audit readiness and operational documentation.
5. Commercial & Financial Management
Manage airfreight P&L performance.
Monitor gross profit, revenue, and operational costs.
Review quotations and ensure competitive pricing.
Identify new business opportunities and airline partnerships.
Support budget planning and cost control initiatives.
6. Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop airfreight operations staff.
Conduct performance monitoring and training.
Assign workload and manpower planning.
Build a high-performance customer-focused team.
Typical Qualifications (Indonesia)
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
IATA certification is preferred.
Experience 5–10 years in freight forwarding or logistics.
Minimum 3–5 years managing airfreight operations.
Strong import/export airfreight knowledge.
Experience with airlines, customs, and cargo terminals (especially CGK/SHIA).
