Operational Supervisor

About the role

We is seeking an experienced Operational Supervisor to join our Freight and Cargo Forwarding operations. This is a full-time position based in North Jakarta, Jakarta. As Operational Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring smooth cargo handling, timely shipment processing, and adherence to operational standards. This position is essential to maintaining our competitive edge in the freight forwarding industry and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Key responsibilities

1. Supervise and coordinate daily freight and cargo handling operations to ensure efficient processing and timely delivery

2. Monitor warehouse and operational activities, including receiving, sorting, packing and dispatching of cargo

3. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health standards and company operational procedures

4. Manage and optimise resource allocation, including staffing schedules and equipment utilisation

5. Liaise with customs authorities, shipping agents and clients to facilitate smooth cargo movement and documentation

6. Track shipment progress and provide regular updates to clients and internal stakeholders

7. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reduce costs

8. Train, supervise and mentor operational staff, maintaining high performance standards

9. Maintain accurate records and reports on cargo movements, inventory and operational metrics

10. Handle customer inquiries and resolve operational issues promptly and professionally

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience of 3-5 years in freight forwarding, logistics operations or warehouse management supervision

2. Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, customs documentation and shipping regulations

3. Demonstrated ability to manage teams, delegate tasks and maintain discipline in a fast-paced environment

4. Proficiency in logistics management systems and Microsoft Office applications

5. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English and Indonesian

7. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure

8. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy in documentation and records

9. Valid driving licence is an advantage

10. Knowledge of Indonesian customs procedures and port operations is highly desirable
