Cook – Western
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook – Western to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Western cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan dishes, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of Western dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Perform daily mise en place and maintain adequate stock levels for kitchen operations.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Properly store and handle food products in accordance with FIFO and HACCP procedures.
- Assist in menu development and recipe improvements, including vegetarian and vegan offerings.
- Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Monitor food quality and minimize waste through proper portion control and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a hotel, resort, or restaurant environment.
- Strong knowledge of Western cuisine, cooking techniques, and food presentation.
- Experience preparing a variety of dishes such as steaks, pasta, seafood, salads, soups, sandwiches, and desserts.
- Knowledge and experience in vegetarian and vegan cuisine is highly preferred.
- Understanding of HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail, and passion for culinary excellence.
