IT QA Engineer Manual

Job Description

• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for web, mobile, and API-based applications.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing to ensure software quality and reliability.

• Conduct API testing using Postman and validate system integrations.

• Perform database validation and data integrity testing to ensure application accuracy and consistency.

• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using tools such as Jira.

• Collaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and stakeholders throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

• Validate application functionality against business and technical requirements.

• Support release readiness by executing manual test cycles, regression checks, and quality validation within the agreed delivery process.

• Prepare and maintain testing documentation, test reports, and quality metrics.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending testing and quality assurance best practices.

• Perform manual testing across functional behavior, user interface/display, and basic performance aspects of the application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer or Software Tester.

• Experience in web application testing, mobile application testing, API testing using Postman, and database validation.

• Experience using project and documentation management tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools and practices.

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Experience working with Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies.

• Ability to create, execute, and maintain comprehensive test documentation and test cases.

• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and collaboration abilities.

• Familiarity with Katalon and Cucumber-based test scenarios is an advantage. 

• Willing to work onsite

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.

• Familiarity with Katalon and Cucumber-based testing documentation or test scenarios is an advantage.

• Familiarity with SQL and database query validation.

• Understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and integration testing.

• Experience working with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

• Knowledge of performance, load, and security testing methodologies.

• Experience using Git or other version control systems.

• ISTQB or other QA-related certifications are an advantage.

• Experience working in enterprise-scale application development projects.
