We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our established and supportive team. This role is suited to an experienced Project Engineer, engineering or surveying graduate, diploma-qualified candidate, or undergraduate student looking to gain practical experience and develop a long-term career in civil construction.

You will work alongside experienced project managers, engineers, surveyors, and site teams, gaining exposure to all aspects of project delivery.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the planning, coordination, delivery, and monitoring of a wide range of civil construction projects across the South Island.
The successful candidate will support project and site teams, coordinate project activities, and contribute to the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of projects from tender through to completion. As your experience develops, you will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and play a key role in managing projects.
Key Responsibilities
Interpreting plans, specifications, regulations, and codes of practice.
Assisting with project planning, programming, and coordination.
Delivering project survey, set-out, and quality assurance documentation.
Monitoring project progress and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Assisting with tender preparation and pricing submissions.
Communicating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assisting with project cost control and forecasting.
Coordinating the supply of materials, plant, and equipment.
Recording construction progress, variations, and project documentation.
Preparing project reports and supporting contract administration.
Promoting a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture on site.
About You
We are looking for someone who is motivated, eager to learn, and enjoys working as part of a team. Ideally, you will have:
A tertiary qualification (or currently studying) in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Diploma and degree-qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
An interest in civil construction and project delivery.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
An understanding of health and safety, environmental, and quality assurance requirements.
The ability to work collaboratively with site teams, clients, and consultants.
A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects.
The ability to perform well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
