About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our kitchen and hospitality team at our Badung, Bali location. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, organisation, and smooth operation of our kitchen and dining facilities. As a Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned, sanitised, and efficiently stored. Your work is essential to supporting our culinary team and maintaining the high standards of hygiene and presentation that our guests expect.

Key responsibilities

1. Washing, sanitising, and storing all dishes, cutlery, glassware, and kitchen utensils in accordance with health and safety standards

2. Operating and maintaining dishwashing equipment and ensuring proper functioning of all machinery

3. Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the scullery, kitchen floors, and storage areas

4. Removing and disposing of kitchen waste in an environmentally responsible manner

5. Restocking kitchen supplies and coordinating with the culinary team regarding equipment and utensil availability

6. Assisting with food preparation support tasks as directed by the kitchen supervisor

7. Following all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols to prevent contamination

8. Working collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow

9. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly

10. Maintaining a safe and organised work environment at all times

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience working as a Steward, kitchen assistant, or in a similar hospitality role within a hotel, restaurant, or catering establishment

2. Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and sanitation best practices

3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

4. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness

5. Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work with cleaning equipment

6. Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to take direction from supervisors

7. Reliability and punctuality with a professional work ethic

8. Basic numeracy and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

9. Fluency in Indonesian and English is preferred; other languages are a plus

10. Knowledge of local Balinese hospitality customs is advantageous
