About the role
We are seeking a Staff Import to join our team on a full-time basis in Kendal, Central Java. This position is integral to our import operations, where you will play a key role in managing and coordinating import shipments, ensuring smooth customs clearance and compliance with all relevant regulations. As a Staff Import, you will be responsible for facilitating the movement of goods across international borders whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory adherence. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in customs procedures, documentation and international trade logistics.
Key responsibilities
Processing and managing import documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, packing lists and customs declarations
Coordinating with customs brokers, shipping agents and relevant authorities to facilitate timely customs clearance
Preparing and submitting customs entries and supporting documentation to customs authorities in compliance with regulations
Monitoring import shipments throughout the supply chain and providing regular status updates to internal stakeholders
Verifying accuracy of import documentation and ensuring all required information is complete and correct prior to submission
Liaising with suppliers, freight forwarders and logistics partners to resolve any issues or discrepancies related to incoming shipments
Maintaining accurate records of all import transactions, duties paid and regulatory compliance documentation
Assisting in the calculation of import duties, taxes and associated shipping costs
Ensuring adherence to import regulations, tariff classifications and trade compliance requirements
Supporting the preparation of reports on import activities and performance metrics
What we're looking for
Proven experience working in import operations, customs clearance or international trade logistics
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, tariff classifications and import regulations in Indonesia and relevant international markets
Proficiency in import documentation standards, including HS codes, commercial invoices and customs declarations
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and rectify documentation errors
Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Proficiency in relevant computer systems and software, including databases and Microsoft Office applications
Clear written and verbal communication skills in Indonesian and preferably English
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of supply chain management and logistics processes is highly desirable
