About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join the team at Toko Kopi Melangkah Madjoe in Bandung, Jawa Barat. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our coffee shop operations, crafting exceptional coffee beverages and creating memorable experiences for our customers. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reputation of our café, ensuring every cup served reflects our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, filter coffee and specialty beverages with precision and consistency

2. Operating and maintaining espresso machines and other coffee equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality

3. Taking customer orders accurately and providing recommendations based on customer preferences

4. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the coffee preparation area and throughout the café

5. Building positive relationships with customers and providing exceptional service to enhance their café experience

6. Managing inventory of coffee beans, milk and other supplies, and communicating with management when stock levels are low

7. Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations during peak and off-peak hours

8. Following established recipes and procedures to maintain consistency in beverage preparation

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience working as a Barista or in a similar café environment

2. Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods and flavour profiles

3. Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other coffee-making equipment

4. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour

5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining attention to detail

6. Strong communication and teamwork abilities

7. Attention to cleanliness and food safety standards

8. Ability to multitask and prioritise responsibilities during busy periods

9. A passion for coffee and genuine interest in delivering quality beverages

10. Relevant barista certifications or training courses are advantageous
