Accounting Manager

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and government regulations, and providing financial reports to support management's decision-making. The role supervises the accounting team and ensures the timely preparation of financial statements, tax filings, and other financial reports.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the daily operations of the Accounting Department.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of accounting records and financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow, company expenditures, and budget performance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and general ledger activities.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of taxes and government statutory requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG, when applicable).
• Coordinate with external auditors, internal auditors, and government agencies during audits and inspections.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), tax regulations, and other applicable laws.
• Review and approve journal entries, vouchers, and financial transactions.
• Train, coach, and evaluate the performance of accounting personnel.
• Perform other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in accounting, with 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine taxation, financial reporting, and accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, retail, food service, or distribution industries is an advantage.
• Experience handling BIR audits and government compliance.
• Knowledge of inventory and cost accounting.
