About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Terapis Anak Berkebutuhan Khusus (Special Needs Children Therapist for Speech Therapist, Verbal Behavior Therapist, ABA Therapist, Home visit therapist) to join Yayasan Putra Putri Indonesia Bahagia Cempaka Putih. This is a full-time position based in Central Jakarta. As a Special Needs Children Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic support and intervention services to children with special educational needs. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and other professionals to create tailored therapeutic programmes that promote each child's physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.

Key responsibilities

1. Assess and evaluate children with special needs to identify their therapeutic requirements and developmental areas

2. Design and implement individualised therapy programmes based on each child's specific needs and developmental goals

3. Provide direct therapeutic intervention sessions

4. Monitor and document progress regularly, maintaining detailed records of each child's therapeutic journey and outcomes

5. Collaborate with teachers, parents and guardians to ensure consistency between school and home-based therapeutic approaches

6. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, therapeutic objectives, and recommendations for continued support

7. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to develop comprehensive support plans for children

8. Maintain a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that promotes child development and wellbeing

9. Stay updated with best practices in therapeutic intervention and special needs education through continued professional development

What we're looking for

1. Qualification or certification in child therapy, psychology , special education, occupational therapy, speech therapy, or a related therapeutic discipline

2. Minimum 1 years of demonstrated experience working with children with special needs in an educational or therapeutic setting

3. Strong knowledge of child development milestones and understanding of various special educational needs including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties

4. Excellent observational and assessment skills with the ability to identify individual learning and developmental needs

5. Proficiency in designing and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to individual children

6. Strong communication skills in Indonesian and English, with the ability to explain therapeutic concepts clearly to parents and colleagues

7. Patience, empathy, and genuine commitment to supporting children with diverse needs

8. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage positively with parents and families

9. Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate documentation

10. Flexibility and adaptability in approach to meet the varying needs of different children and learning contexts
