PT SBE is a pioneering conservation and peatland management company in Kapuas Hulu, West Kalimantan. Our project covers ~48,000 hectares of peat ecosystems, focusing on fire prevention, hydrology restoration, biodiversity protection, and community engagement. Spesific Job Requirement :
1. Smart Patrol Operator
• Able to operate the SMART (Spatial Monitoring and Reporting Tool) application — data input, route tracking, incident reporting
• Able to use a handheld GPS and read area maps
• Able to operate a camera/cell phone for field documentation (photos, coordinates, sketches)
• Able to fill out digital patrol forms accurately and timely
• Added value: Able to use a drone for aerial monitoring
• Meticulous, disciplined, and responsible for data accuracy
• Able to compile structured field reports
• Communicative and able to engage persuasively with communities encountered in the area
• Understands OHS procedures and field risk mitigation
2. Forest Patrol & Trailblazer
• Mastery of forest terrain navigation: navigating paths using local knowledge
• Ability to pioneer new paths (opening trails) in forested areas using machetes and manual tools
• Ability to identify signs of area disturbance: logging, hunting trails, fire hotspots, illegal mining activities
• Understanding the characteristics of peat areas and the operational risks involved
• Ability to operate field transportation: trail bikes and speedboats (a plus)
• High physical endurance — able to patrol in difficult terrain, extreme weather, and for long periods
• Familiarity with local flora/fauna (especially protected species) as part of monitoring
• Basic forest survival skills
• Calm and alert in dealing with emergency situations in the field
• Ability to coordinate with village officials, KPH (FMU), and LPHD (Regional Forest Management Agency)
General Job Requirement :
Minimum education: High School/Vocational High School (advantages include D3/S1 in Forestry, Environment, or GIS)
Priority is given to those who have an understanding of the routes in Peat, especially in the SBE area
Committed to the principles of sustainable forest management
Has no conflict of interest with illegal activities in the area
Willing to be assigned according to patrol needs (routine or special)
Able to work in a multi-stakeholder team (independent or joint patrols)
Able to drive land operational vehicles (motorcycles) -> Owning a motorbike that can be rented for patrols is a plus
