About the role

PT Varley Indonesia is seeking a Sales Engineer Oil & Gas for the Central Java Region to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in Semarang, Jawa Tengah, where you will serve as a technical sales specialist driving business development and client engagement within the oil and gas industry. As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between our technical capabilities and customer needs, providing expert guidance on engineering solutions, maintenance services, and product offerings to regional clients. This role is crucial to our growth strategy and your performance will directly impact our market presence and revenue generation in Central Java.

Key responsibilities

  1. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the oil and gas sector across the Central Java region

  2. Conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients, emphasising engineering specifications and maintenance solutions

  3. Prepare detailed technical proposals and quotations tailored to client requirements

  4. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understanding their operational challenges and business objectives

  5. Provide technical support and guidance to clients on product selection, installation, and optimal utilisation

  6. Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met and service delivery is seamless

  7. Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify strategic opportunities and inform sales strategies

  8. Attend industry conferences, trade shows and networking events to promote PT Varley Indonesia's services and expand market reach

  9. Prepare sales reports and performance metrics, tracking pipeline development and forecasting revenue

  10. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and health and safety standards in all client interactions


What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related technical field

  2. Minimum 3-5 years of sales or technical sales experience in the oil and gas industry, specifically in engineering, maintenance or services sectors

  3. Strong technical knowledge of oil and gas operations, equipment, maintenance systems and engineering principles

  4. Proven track record of successfully closing sales and achieving revenue targets in a B2B environment

  5. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  6. Proficiency in Indonesian and English languages, both written and verbal

  7. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset to understand client needs and propose effective solutions

  8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple client relationships simultaneously

  9. Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly within Central Java and surrounding regions

  10. Familiarity with CRM systems and sales management software is advantageous
