About the role
Midea Electronics Indonesia is seeking a talented Design Engineer HVAC to join our engineering team in Tangerang, Banten. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of innovative heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. As a Design Engineer HVAC, you will play a critical role in creating efficient, reliable, and cost-effective HVAC solutions that meet market demands and customer expectations. This position is essential to our product development strategy and directly impacts the quality and competitiveness of our HVAC product line.
What you'll be doing
Design and develop HVAC systems, components, and assemblies using computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering principles
Conduct thermal and aerodynamic calculations and simulations to optimise system performance and energy efficiency
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure designs meet technical requirements and cost targets
Perform design reviews and validate prototypes through testing and analysis to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Investigate and resolve design-related issues, defects, and customer feedback to continuously improve product performance
Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to enhance HVAC system capabilities
Provide technical support to manufacturing and after-sales teams during product launch and production phases
Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, calculations, and modifications for future reference and continuous improvement
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline
Proven experience (3+ years) in HVAC system design or a similar mechanical engineering role
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent design tools
Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles as applied to HVAC systems
Familiarity with HVAC industry standards, regulations, and certification requirements (such as ISO standards and local building codes)
Experience with thermal and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations is highly desirable
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex engineering challenges
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse departments
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality engineering work
Knowledge of energy efficiency standards and sustainable cooling and heating solutions is advantageous
