Finance & Accounting (Mandarin speaker)

About the role

Sumber Mega International is seeking a Finance & Accounting professional with Mandarin language capabilities to join our growing team in West Jakarta. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting regulatory compliance, and providing essential financial insights to drive business decision-making. As a Finance & Accounting professional, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial reporting whilst supporting our international operations and stakeholder communications.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements and records in accordance with accounting standards and company policies

2. Recording and reconciling financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries

3. Conducting month-end and year-end close procedures, including reconciliations and variance analysis

4. Supporting internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation and explanations

5. Assisting with the preparation of financial reports for management and stakeholders

6. Managing invoicing, billing and collection processes

7. Liaising with international teams and stakeholders using Mandarin language capabilities to facilitate clear communication and understanding

8. Supporting compliance with local and international accounting regulations and requirements

9. Identifying and resolving discrepancies in financial records in a timely manner

10. Contributing to continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls

What we're looking for

1. Completed secondary education; tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred

2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a financial accounting or reporting role

3. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (Simplified or Traditional) with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken form

4. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards and best practices relevant to financial reporting

5. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is advantageous

6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping and reporting

7. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

8. Solid understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements

9. Effective communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

10. Proactive problem-solving approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes
