TechOps Engineer - 24/7 Operations (Junior Level)
Job Type: Contract, Shift-based | Experience Level: Junior (1–2 years)
About the Role
We are looking for a TechOps Support Engineer to join our 24/7 operations team, responsible for monitoring, first-response incident handling, and operational support to keep our production services running smoothly. This role serves as the L1/L2 first layer of monitoring, following structured SOPs before escalating complex issues to the TechOps Core team — a great starting point for building hands-on production experience.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor production applications and services on a regular basis
Provide first response to alerts and production incidents
Perform initial troubleshooting following established SOPs
Check service availability, application logs, API responses, database status, queue status, and server resources
Perform initial chatbot flow checks and configuration validation (flow execution, API endpoints, request/response mapping)
Escalate complex issues to the TechOps Core team
Assist with post-deployment validation and basic API testing
Support client issue investigation using data and logs
Monitor dashboards and alert systems
Create initial incident reports and complete daily operational checklists
Requirements
1–2 years of experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Application Support Engineer, IT Support Engineer, or Junior TechOps Engineer
Basic Linux command knowledge (service checks, process checks, reading logs, resource checking)
Understanding of basic REST API concepts (request/response, HTTP status codes, JSON)
Familiarity with Postman and/or cURL
Ability to read application logs and JSON-based configurations
Basic understanding of chatbot/application flow (flow execution, conditions, variables, API integration)
Basic database knowledge (SQL queries, data checking)
Familiarity with monitoring dashboards (Grafana, Cloud Monitoring)
Willingness to work in shifts / 24/7 on-call rotation
Nice to Have
Prior experience supporting production applications
Familiarity with WhatsApp Business Platform
Basic understanding of Docker, Git, and cloud platforms
Understanding of queue systems, cache systems, and API Gateway concepts
Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python)
Experience using a ticketing system
Soft Skills
Responsive to incidents and alerts, detail-oriented, disciplined in following SOPs, clear escalation communication, eager to learn new technologies, able to work under pressure, and comfortable in a shift-based team environment.
