ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a sharp and pragmatic Legal Manager to build and manage the legal function of our EV ride-hailing startup from the ground up. You will be our first dedicated legal hire, responsible for ensuring the company operates within regulatory frameworks, managing contracts with partners and vendors, and providing strategic legal counsel to the leadership team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review, and negotiate all company contracts including vendor agreements, partnership deals, driver agreements, and employment contracts.
- Ensure the company's compliance with Indonesian regulations relevant to ride-hailing, EV operations, transportation licensing (DISHUB), and data privacy.
- Manage corporate legal documentation: company deeds, shareholder agreements, permits, and regulatory filings
- Handle dispute resolution and coordinate with external law firms for litigation or complex legal matters.
- Support business expansion activities including new city licensing, regulatory approvals, and government relations.
- Monitor changes in relevant Indonesian laws and regulations and brief management on implications for the business.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree (S1) in Law from an accredited Indonesian university.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in corporate law, either in a law firm or in-house legal role.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
- Experience in corporate governance for publicly listed companies (Tbk) or familiarity with IDX listing requirements.
- Experience in providing compliance support, OJK reporting, and administrative preparation for companies undergoing or preparing for IPO.
- Comfortable operating independently as a sole legal professional in an early-stage company.
- Preferably available to join immediately or within one month notice period.
- Willing to work Monday–Friday (09:00–18:00) and Saturday half-day (09:00–13:00).
